Heartbraker muzzle brake
As of November 2014 we are offering a stainless steel muzzle brake in a couple of configurations. These brakes are made from the same steel we use for rifle barrels and are furnished with a stainless steel crush washer.
These brakes can be used with a crush washer or a gunsmith can properly time and blend them to your barrel diameter with a minimum of 0.675″. They are available in three different internal diameters; 0.250″, 0.277″ and 0.330″. These diameters should opened as needed to allow a minimum internal brake diameter of .010″ over bullet diameter (your gunsmith may also need to bore them out to afford proper clearance for your chosen caliber). The outside diameter is 0.875″ x 3.000″ and internally threaded 5/8″-24 TPI which opens into the first port as shown in the picture.
These brakes have 3 vertical ports to help control muzzle rise and 4 large ports on the sides. There is NO porting on the bottom to help reduce dust blast. They match up very well with our AR10-24 .308 & .260 barrels, and our AR-24 barrels available in .223, 6.5 Grendel, and .204 Ruger.
Furnished with a stainless steel crush washer made by us. The dimensions on the crush washer are 0.875″ x 0.140″ with a bore of 0.630″.
We have done some high-speed video work of these brakes in action. These clips really show the effectiveness of the brakes at 10,000 frames per second.
